GRADING POLICY
& COURSE GUIDELINES
GRADING: Your grade will be determined from three
exams in lecture worth 60% of your grade, and the remaining 40% will be based on
your performance in the laboratory section given in connection with this course.
A=90-100; B+=86-89.9; B=80-85.9; C+=76-79.9; C=70-75.9; D+=66-69.9; D=60-65.9;
F=0-59.9. The maximum penalty is imposed for cheating (see Student Handbook).
EXAMS: The exams are designed to attempt to test
understanding and not just memorization. Exams are mostly multiple choice (with
questions designed to eliminate "multiple guessing"). All
material covered or assigned in the text may be used in preparation of exams.
Bring a #2 pencil for all exams. Attendance for all exams, as scheduled, is
required. Attendance for review sessions is optional.
Testing Policy: All common sense rules regarding
test-taking are always considered to be effect from the moment you enter the
room. This includes, but is not limited to: you may not leave the room once you
have started the test unless you hand in your test as finished; you may not have
written material of any kind within your view; no talking; etc.
Contact: I strongly recommend that you email me ASAP so
that I have your email address on file as a fast, reliable way to get in
touch with you.
Best wishes for a great semester!
