Professor (full-time faculty) in the Biology Department. Courses regularly taught include Anatomy and Physiology, Human Biology, and Introduction to Biology. Actively participated in numerous Faculty committees and subcommittees including: Academic Technology, Peer Evaluation, Faculty Information Services (Chairman), Curriculum (Special Projects Chairman), Faculty Elections (Chairman). Also served on numerous Departmental committees including: Computer, Technology, Faculty Evaluation, Course Development, and Search committees.
Website developer and Webmaster for the Biology Department Website and the Peer Evaluation Committee Website.
Wrote guidelines for new instructors to assist them in teaching courses at a level consistent with department standards. Also wrote several laboratory exercises for biology department courses.
Author of several laboratory books: Laboratory Manual for Human Biology, Essentials of Anatomy & Physiology Laboratory Manual (Addison, Wesley); and Introduction to Biology, (Pearson Custom Publishing). Consultant for Mosby's Medical, Nursing, & Allied Health Dictionary.
Reviewer of numerous biology books including: Human Anatomy & Physiology Lab Manual (Marieb), Introduction to the Human Body (Tortora), Essentials of Anatomy and Physiology (Seeley, et. al.), Understanding Human Anatomy & Physiology (Mader), The Human Body in Health and Disease (Thibodeau), Essentials of Anatomy and Physiology (Martini), A Journey into Life (Arms & Camp), and Anatomy & Physiology (Saladin).
Other Teaching Experience: Have also taught a wide variety of courses including major's biology, anatomy & physiology, genetics, and ecology at the County College of Morris, State University of New York, and Montclair State University.
1981 to 1989
Regulatory Toxicology: Held several management-level positions best described as belonging to the category of Regulatory Toxicology from 1981-1989. Responsibilities included: Management of research, tasks, and staff responsible for compliance with government regulations. Some positions required responsibilities for product development and research. Government liaison with EPA, USDA, OSHA, DOT, and State environmental or agricultural agencies. Preparation of support data (toxicology, chemistry, and product performance) and coordination with government regulators and scientists in order to obtain approval of new and improved products. Participated in Government-Industry organizations and task forces involved in promoting safe use of chemicals through improved labeling and public education. Wrote Material Safety Data Sheets for all products. Assisted customer service department by answering public inquiries regarding safety and usage of products. Writer/editor of the monthly newsletters. Positions were with Roussel Bio Corp., Universal Cooperatives, Inc., and The Bonide Corporation.
