BIO 105 Lab
BIOLOGY 105
BIO 105 is the first part in A&P sequel. The course is designed for pre-nursing, pre-physical therapy and other allied health students. The course specifically deals with cells, tissues, integument, skeletal system, muscular system, and nervous system. Students will have 3 hour lab every week.
Your lab grade will be based
on three factors:
1. Daily quizzes in the lab. Each quiz consists of 15 - 20
questions, which are based on the work of the previous lab. Each quiz can
contain multiple choice questions, pictures or specimens, given you for
identification. Students will have 15 minutes to answer all questions.
The lowest score will be dropped. The
remaining quizzes will constitute 80% of the lab grade. There are no
make-ups for missed lab quizzes.
2. Final lab exam - A final cumulative laboratory exam will be given on the last day of classes. This exam will be constructed in the same way, as quizzes. There will be around 40 questions. Students will have 1 minute to observe and answer each question. The lab final will be worth 20% of the Final Lab Grade.
3. Attendance at all classes is mandatory and active participation in the lab activities is expected. Excessive absence will result is a grade penalty. Lateness is not acceptable. Quizzes will be given in the beginning of the class. Students, who are late to the class will have less time to complete the quiz.
All electronic devices (cell phones, etc.) must be turned off and stored off desks and out of sight during all tests and quizzes. If the electronic device is used, goes off, or is visibly observed by the instructor during a testing experience, the student may be given a failing grade, as low as zero. All of these restrictions equally apply to students reviewing exams/quizzes at a later date.
