COLON - LARGE INTESTINE
The entire large intestine has a length of about 5 ft. and a width of 3 inches. It consists of the following areas: 1. the caecum, 2. the ascending colon, 3. the right colic flexure (hepatic flexure), 4. the transverse colon, 5. the left colic flexure (splenic flexure) and the descending colon.
