ILIOPSOAS MUSCLES
A. iliacus B. psoas major
The iliopsoas consists of two close related muscles. The iliacus has an origin on the iliac fossa. The psoas major has origins on the thoracic and lumbar vertebrae. For an insertion, the iliopsoas connects to the lesser trochanter of the femur. These muscles flex the trunk on the thigh.
