JAUNDICE
Jaundice is a discoloration of the skin due to the accumulation of bilirubin, urobilinogen and other bile pigments in the skin and whites of the eyes. It may represent a transitory condition as in newborns or a very serious breakdown in liver function due to hepatitis, cirrhosis, liver cancer or blockage of the bile transport system with gall stones.
