BRAIN STEM - MEDULLA OBLONGATA
The medulla oblongata is the last portion of the brain before the spinal cord. It contains nerve tracts of the corticospinal (motor) and spinothalamic (sensory) pathways. In addition, it contains the autonomic centrs for regulating heart rate, vasomotion and respiratory rhythmicity.
