Grocery Shopping

With Peapod from Stop and Shop,  online grocery shopping has arrived in central NJ.
Amazon has been selling nonperishable goods for a while.
Shop-Rite lets customers order, but they must pick up their order. Most of the grocery chains have an online presence; A&P, Pathmark Pathmark Grocery Stores and Shop-Rite ShopRite have web sites.
Each week I visit the ShopRite site and using the image of the paper flyer, I create a custom grocery list.    FreshDirect

Check out Fresh Direct whose business is 100% Internet.  My son orders from FreshDirect and the groceries are deliver in boxes right into his kitchen (in a NYC apartment).

  1. Research this topic.

bullet

Read about it online. Find articles (3 or more on the subject , like MSN's "Attention! Online grocery-shopping is back.")

bullet

Visit 3 or more grocery sites. See what level of online service they provide.
View their circular, make a shopping list if you can, customize your visit, if you can. Compare the grocery stores to each other and to what the online articles said

bullet

Check out a new niche market, online purchase of paper coupons with thousands of sellers like "The Coupon Clipper".

  1. Document what you've learned

    bullet

Be sure to include the URL's of the articles and of the grocery stores.
Which supermarket's site is better?  Why?  What else should they do?

bulletWrite up your findings using a Word Processor so you have availability of the spell checker, thesaurus and Word Count. Your 2 or 3 paragraphs should both summarize and mention important specifics. The idea is to show thought, not lots of words. Shoot for 10 to 20 sentences, which is usually about 200 words.
bulletCopy your findings the the clipboard and post on the WebBoard. Post them directly in the message so that links that you took can be easily taken by those reading your post. Do NOT attach a document.
Spice up your post with images, color, bolds etc.

Look and comment on the work of others.
