Watch/Listen to

Note that there is a printable transcript below the videos to keep for review

Learn to use features such as

  • My ebay
  • Watch this item
  • Favorite Searches and Favorite Sellers
  • Make me an offer

To do most of this you will have to sign up.  To sell you need provide additional information such as you checking account number.
I find it easiest to do transactions using PayPal.

To do this assignment you must

  • Search for several items
  • Bid on at least one item.  Then post a link to the auction site(s) where you have made bids (bid information stays there even after the auction closes. In fact, this makes it possible to see what similar items sold for in the past- after searching for a particular kind of item, click on Advanced and ask for closed.
If you really don't want to buy, make a ludicrously low bid on something like a certificate. The point is you need to establish an eBay identity to bid.
  • Create create a post that contains:

Your Favorite Searches.  You can go to the Favorite Searches pages and simply copy and past them into your post

Copy the "All Buying" section of the My Ebay page that shows your activity in the last month? year?
    All Buying
      Watching (17)
      Bidding (8)
      Best Offers
      Won (9)
      Didn't Win (21)
Copy and paste the specifics of each of the above that has any.

To really understand EBay sell an item (the assignment will then count double).

  • Give links to the auction site. (it stays there even after the auction closes. In fact this makes it possible to see what similar items sold for in the past. After searching for a particular kind of item, click on Advanced and ask for closed.
