Read Chapter 2, "Browsing the Web." pages 40 to 95. Much of this material is not new for many of you.
This chapter defines and explains key terms: Web site, home page, portal , client-server, IP address, domain name, DNS, browse, URL. You may use these words, but read the definitive definitions in the text. Next it points out the components of a web page. It talks about moving to a different page by taking a hyperlink. I can also easily share these links. The is an assignment where you create a SaveThis account, add some links and share them with me. It discusses saving webpage, emailing web pages and printing web pages. Please read my page on printing. It contains sections for printing pages from Internet Explorer, as well as Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Note the text id incorrect on the bottom of page 72, even if you right click on the selection, you must choose the Selection radio button of the Print dialog box. The section on Risks and Safeguards is important. Pay attention to the @Issue:
