Assignments and Grades for CIS120 The Internet

This course consists of 5 components:

  1. Reading the text and taking the Practice and rRview tests that insure you have read (understand?) the basic concepts
  2. Writing a (3 to 5 page) paper that analyzes the impact of one particular aspect of the internet on the society in the USA and on the world
  3. Using the various methods of communicating on the internet
    • Email
    • Instant Message

    • Discussion Forum (aka message board)

  4. Creating a multiage web site of your own
  5. Learning to work in a community online by reading the the work of other students and making suggestions for improvement so you would if you were working as fellow employees and had a product to deliver to clients

 

This may look like an awful lot but remember you will be doing it over 15 weeks!
Each segment has several assignments - some are required some you have your choice. 
Some segments require just one assignment, some two (see Grades column).
Each assignment is worth 100 (except week 1 when all assignments are due and their sum value is 100
and Chapter 7 which is your required web site worth 300)
