Prerequisites | The prerequisites for this course are either Union County College's CIS 101, Introduction to Information Systems, which has a section on MS Access or CIS116, Microcomputer Applications Using a Database (Access) with a full term of using Access, or knowledge of Access from hands on experience. Only the basic facilities of Access will be used, and in most cases Wizards will be applied. | |||||||||||
| Help | The first place to look is the online Access Help. It is quite comprehensive. Get as close as you can to solving the problem by yourself, then hit F1. That way the help Access displays will be about the problem you're having. | ||||||||||||

| Versions of Access | The examples in the text and provided by the prof are worked with MS Access 2000, but most probably earlier versions (95 or 95) could be used, since no complex features are required. The main advantage of newer versions is their improved user friendliness and more capable wizards. Access 2002 is now the most current. | ||||||||||||
| Books at Libraries | Most public (town) libraries have volumes on Microsoft Access. Somerset County NJ (where I found 20 titles) and Middlesex County NJ (listing over 40 in town libraries and Middlesex County College with 21) catalogues are online. UCC's McKay Library in Cranford as well as Elizabeth and Plainfield has several. |

| Books to purchase | You can also purchase many books on Access online. Try used first at Half.com or try a shop bot :
