Objective:
To learn and practice creating forms from database tables and queries.
Assignment:
Create 2 or more forms that will permit users to enter data and view
data. One of the forms must have subforms.
Details:
Learn about Access Forms:
 | read about forms in an Access book
|
 | use online MS Access help
 | type "Forms Overview" into Answer Wizard & select "Forms: What they are and how they work"
|
 | Study 3
screen pictures, chose "create a query", read about select and
parameter queries.

 | read "Types of subforms" and the instructions under
"Create one or more subforms"

 | look at Library example in Prof's directory on virtual
disk drive. Study Form view, switch to Design view

Procedure:
- Learn about forms
- Create 3 forms, one or more must have one or more subforms.
 | be sure the name, type and length of the attributes, which are primary
key and foreign key, are exactly the same

 | choose "Create form using wizard"
|
 | select one of the tables and choose all the attributes using >>
button. Remove any attributes that you don't want by highlighting
them and
using the < button in the middle

 | select another table and choose all the attributes using >> button.

key since they are the same.

key when they are the same (you will notice because they have the same
name and thus have been qualified by the table name)

Go on to the next step. Think about how the data is to be viewed (you
might want to do it one way and then do it again the other)
Choose your "look" and name your form.
Provide a description for your form by right clicking its name in Database
window, selecting Properties and typing about 5 to 10 words that describe
the form
Post your database MDB file in your directory on your directory on the virtual
disk drive.
Create a new thread message in the Forms topic on the Bulletin Board
with 1 or 2 sentences describing your work that is to be
reviewed.
Submit for assignment for feedback from Prof and first draft grade
Check if your teammates or other class members have posted a Forms is on
their Database

 | Review them
|
 | Reply to their Post on the Bulletin Board with suggestions for improving
their forms
|
 | Imitate good ideas in your forms
|
Look for suggestions to your Forms
 | incorporate suggestions into your design and upload to your
directory on the virtual disk drive and again
then note improvement have been by replying to your original
Forms post on Bulletin Board or
|
 | post reasons you think suggestions won't work by replying to your
original Forms post on Bulletin Board
|
Continue to do step 5 and 6.
Submit for assignment for final grade
