Objective:

To install Smartdraw  so you can create E-R diagrams that look neat and are easy to update.

Procedure:

Go to www.smartdraw.com

Click

Choose "Run this program from its current location".  It is almost 3 megabytes, so you may want to get a cup of coffee while it downloads (or hang around and look at the SmartDraw web site, see their cool examples or better yet, take the quick tutorial!!!)

Then you will get so click OK.

SmartDraw would like to go into the folder C:\SmartDraw6, which is probably ok, but you may change it if you know your way around Windows.  If put mine in C:\Program Files\SmartDraw6.

Then you must say OK to the License Agreement.

Next you are asked to select an Start Menu Group.  If you don't select anything, a new group with the name SmartDraw is created.  That's ok, but I personally don't like so many groups, so I clicked on Accessories, your choice (but remember where you put it so you can start it next time!)

It will copy the files to your hard disk and then display a button that says "Start SmartDraw".
