Sample Resume

Procedure:

Read the Résumé Hints

Look at the sample carefully.  Consider

bullet

copying the sample to your Word document

and then

bullet

substituting your specific information.

Write a one-page (2 pages  if you've been working more than 8 years) resume for yourself.
If you have a résumé already written, start with that.

Make it look terrific by using san serif proportional fonts (Ariel, Helvetica, etc.) and a variety of point sizes, bold, Italics, borders etc.

Be sure to check out the hints on this site, the samples and sites linked to by this site.

For Horizontal spacing: Format with Paragraph Indents & Spacing and Tabs (NOT the space bar) so words and fonts can be easily changed.

For Vertical spacing (leading): Use Paragraph formatting of Space Before and Space After, NOT enters.

Use Tables to make formatting and positioning easier. See example

Résumés go through constant revision, prepare for it.

Hint: turn on "Show All Characters"

Consider posting your résumé on the Web.
