Is Online Learning for Me?
Studying at your convenience sounds great, but it is not for everyone. The more the following statements describe you, the more successful you will likely be in an online course.
I am a self-starter and internally motivated.
I am primarily a visual learner--I retain material best when I "see" it.
When I am assigned a task, I often get it done on time or even early.
I can often figure out instructions on my own.
Having the instructor present while I am learning the subject is not necessary for me.
When I turn in an assignment, I expect the teacher to grade and comment on my work within a reasonable amount of time, but I do not get frustrated if it sometimes takes longer.
I am familiar with the computer and the Internet and an comfortable in that environment.
I am not afraid to try technologies that are new to me.
The computer hardware and software required for this class is readily available to me so that my progress in this class will not be hindered.
I am excited about using this new technology as a learning tool.
Considering my professional and personal schedules, I have the time available to complete the assigned course work.
My reading level is better than average.
