DR. BARBARA MCGOLDRICK
Personal and Professional Interests

I have been teaching chemistry for more than twenty five years. My students have included science majors, nurses, and liberal arts majors. Over the past five years, I've been professionally active in encouraging the growth of distance education by training faculty to use instructional television (ITV) and to create web sites( see League Presentation), developing chemistry telecourses(videocourses) and online courses for nonscience majors, designing @home laboratory experiments for liberal arts chemistry students and offering the first Union County College online general chemistry course.

I am particularly interested in the intellectual history of modern atomic theory and the history of technology in the United States.

My favorite activities include spending time with my husband and our two sons, hiking, swimming, playing tennis and  training of our Labrador retrievers, Jojo and Retta. We became grandparents in 2007 and love seeing and snuggling with our beautiful grandsons, Max and Aiden.

We mourn the loss of our 1st Labrador, Indie, who died on April 24,  2002 at the young age of 3 1/2 yrs.
