bullet    Exams will as follows:
  • Four 20-minute quizzes will be given on the previous week's topics [multiple choice-questions and problem-solving question].
  • A mid-term exam [problem-solving questions] after the second quiz.
  • Comprehensive final exam consists of multiple-choice questions only.
bullet Everyone must have a Scientific Calculator.  Use of the calculator will be explained in the course.  The scientific calculator does not have to be expensive.
 
bullet Any questions concerning previous lectures, homework, or laboratory problems should be addressed at the beginning of any lecture class.
 
bullet Office hours will be at the ALC on  Mondays and Wednesdays: from 4:00 to 5:30 PM.
 
bullet It is highly recommended that study groups be formed to help each other.
 
bullet Homework is done over the internet,  COURSE COMPASS (CC) is included with the purchase of the text.  CC contains tutorials, PowerPoints and homework assignments to be done over the internet.  Any PC compatible computer with Windows can access CC.
 
bullet It is also highly recommended that each student spend as much time as possible on COURSE COMPASS.
 
bullet If you are absent from class, you should phone or e-mail me either the day of absence or before, if known.  Absences will be utilized in determining final grade.
 
bullet Missed quiz or exam can be made-up only if you contact me prior to the day of the quiz or exam; there are no extra points on make-up exams.  Otherwise, make-ups may not be given and a grade or zero is assigned.  Generally, only one make-up is allowed per student per semester.
 
bullet All CELL PHONES MUST BE TURNED OFF DURING CLASS TIME.
