Wednesday October 17, 2007 ElizabethThe PDC met on Wednesday, October 17, in Room 712 on the Elizabeth Campus. Those present were: Maria Mattaliano, Lynn Meng, Judith Otterburn-Martinez, Josaine Royster and Joann Levey. The committee decided it will host the 7th Annual Teaching and Technology Conference on the Cranford Campus on a Saturday morning in late March or early April. Joann will discuss room possibilities with Jenny Guzman and Annette Castro and report to the committee at the next meeting. Toby Marx has suggested we contact Maryellen Weimer to be our featured speaker at the Conference. If you would like to learn more about her, you can go to her website at http://www.teachingprofessor.com/newsletter/index.html Maria may also have a recommendation for a speaker and will bring information to the next meeting. The committee would like to have a least two workshops that deal with topics other than technology. Two that were discussed were Dealing with Difficult Students and Working with Students with Learning Disabilities. Bill Lipkin and Lisa Chambers-Smith offer these workshops during the long semesters. They were acceptable as instructors for those sessions at the Conference. Joann will ask them if they would be willing to teach them. The next meeting of the committee will be on Wednesday, November 28, in Cranford following the faculty meeting. Joann has requested a room from Jenny Guzman and will let the committee know as soon as she hears from Jenny. |
