Discussion of role of
PDC, Adjunct Institute and Staff Training.

They are melding with
shared attendance at all offerings
-
Joann suggested there
might be differences between workshops offered by Staff Training
and those offered by the PDC. Workshops are more
training-oriented (Word, Excel and other computer software,
multimedia equipment, teaching strategies, etc.) The PDC may be
more interested in offering roundtables where faculty discuss
how to improve teaching and learning.

Joann requested that
the PDC help her by suggesting ideas for future workshops?

Adjuncts get paid $70
for ever 2 level 2 courses they complete so Workshops have to be
reviewed with Dr. Smith to see it they are Level 1, 2, or 3.
All Departmental workshops are level 2.

like to see an offering on new technology like tablet computer

It was also felt that
using the outlook calendar for scheduling (and coordinating
schedules of several people) would be a topic of interest to
many folk

A Roundtable on the
counseling model - one councilor for the life of the student
versus the current UCC way of you get whatever counselor is
available at the time
