Dear International Studies Student, You are enrolled in a transfer-oriented program and will
receive an Associate in Arts degree upon graduation from Union County While the State requires only 45 general education
credits, all of our courses, except for the International Economics course (ECO

CHANGED in the Communications Category: “OR ENG 122, INTRODUCTORY TECHNICAL AND BUSINESS WRITING.” OMITTED BECAUSE COURSE IS NO LONGER A STATE APPROVED GENERAL EDUCATION COURSE WITHIN THE AA DEGREE PROGRAM. 2. CHANGED in the Communications Category: “OR COM 102, REPORTING AND NEWS WRITING.” OMITTED BECAUSE COURSE IS NO LONGER A STATE APPROVED GENERAL EDUCATION COMMUNICATIONS COURSE. 3. The required courses add up to 11 credits. Students must find any course in that category which gives them one additional credit. If they take a four credit science or mathematics course, their total would jump to 15 credits.
It should also be noted that the International Studies Option to the Liberal Arts Program has four specialization courses. These courses are: 1. MAT 127, Elementary Statistics, or higher level statistics course (4 credits) 2. GEO 201, World Geography (3 credits) 3. ECO 209, International Economy (3 credits) 4.
