ESL 091 Basics, January 24, 2003:
1. Attend every class. More than one absence is excessive, and can hurt your grade.
2. If you must miss a class, you are responsible for
A. Turning in all HW to me on the next day that the school is open (Monday).
B. Finding out what we studied in the class that you missed. See me to get a quick review of what we studied. Find out the new HW and bring it to the next class. I can give you the handout, or you can find it from my web pages:
http://faculty.ucc.edu/english-mcdermott
The first time that you use my web pages, open the web page, and then save it as a favorite so that your computer will remember it for you.
C.
You must bring this new HW on time to the next
class.
3.
Get and use a stapler.
4.
Always attach old drafts of a paper in back of the newest draft, so I can
see how you have improved the work. I
cannot give grades unless I see all drafts.
5.
Come see me if you need help. Don’t be afraid. I do not bite. Often
10 or 15 minutes with a professor helps more than 3 hours in regular classes.
