My Teaching Background
I've been teaching at the Institute for Intensive English at the Elizabeth Campus since the fall of 1988.  Before I came to UCC, I had taught at Lehman College in the Bronx, NY,  at other colleges in the New York / New Jersey area and in Boston, Massachusetts.
Overseas Experience

I've taught overseas twice.  I spent two years in Odawara, Japan teaching at the Language Institute of Japan.  I taught Japanese businessmen in an intensive residential program.   In 1993, I spent six months in Southern Italy, where I gave workshops to middle school and high school teachers.  I lived in Salerno, a city about one hour south of Napoli, and I still visit my Italian neighbors once a year.

Courses and Interests  at UCC

I am very involved in the computer labs and along with a group of other teachers, I help to select ESL software for the computers in the ALC.  I have taught all the courses at the Institute, but I usually teach Level 1, Level 3, Level 4 and the advanced reading courses.  These days, I'm busy designing web pages for my courses.  You can see my course web pages by clicking on any of the links at the bottom of this page

My favorite sport is baseball, and my favorite baseball team is the New York Mets (National League Champions in 2000!) even when they're playing poorly.  On my vacations, I like to travel.   My favorite American cities are New Orleans, San Franciso, Boston, and I guess I like New York City, too. I haven't visited all 50 states, but I'm working on it. Out of the country, I've traveled to Japan, Thailand, France, Spain, Italy, and the Caribbean. I'd like to go to South America and China.

On the left, you see a picture I took while I was in Cordoba, Spain.
