COURSE REQUIREMENTS

Attendance       
Regular attendance is mandatory for the successful completion of the course.    Students are required to access to this course regularly or on a daily basis in order to make sure that students attend the class activities and complete the class assignments in a timely manner.  The instructor can track students' attendance through the student tracking from the homepage.

Reading       
Students are required to have prepared the assigned readings to ensure the understanding of the class materials and to ensure productive discussions.

Class Discussions       
An online course supports more interactive and collaborative learning in the form of synchronous communication activities such as chat and asynchronous activities such as email and bulletin board. Students are required to participate in in-group or class discussions in the form of bulletin board and chat.  Students are required to check the calendar of activities and events from the homepage on a daily basis to make sure that you complete the assignments in a timely manner.  Class discussions help students to reinforce the course material and are worth 30 points of the semester grade.

Five Multiple-choice Examinations       
There will be five multiple-choice exams, 1 point each, with a total of 150 points.   The examination will be taken totally online. Students are required to take the exam at the scheduled time. 

Multicultural Assignment       
Students are required to learn how to browse the Internet to search information on a culture of their choice (see Chapter 2 handout for details). The purpose of this assignment has two. One is to provide students with an opportunity to search materials through the Internet and another purpose is to familiarize them with other cultures. This work is assigned to integrate technology and multiculturalism and cultural diversity into the curriculum. Students are required to post this assignment in My Presentation from the homepage (see F.A.Q in the homepage for help). This multicultural assignment is worth 20 points of the semester grade.
